The connection, the charging target and the next journey. A few useful checks, with your vehicle’s own manual as the starting point.
The best starting point for charging and maintenance is the manual for your exact vehicle. Instructions can differ between models, battery types and charging equipment.
Check the connection
Follow the vehicle and charger instructions before plugging in. Do not use damaged cables, sockets or connectors. Have concerns checked by the operator or a qualified professional.
Tata’s Nexon.ev owner’s manual, July 2025 asks drivers to keep the power socket, charging gun and vehicle port dry, and to use dry hands while standing on dry ground. Use your own vehicle’s instructions for the conditions you encounter.
Confirm charging has started
Check the vehicle or charger’s charging indication. Plugging in and starting a session are separate steps. Before leaving, make sure the displayed state matches what you expect.
Choose the target for your vehicle
Follow the manufacturer’s recommended charging routine. A single daily target does not suit every battery. For a longer journey, review your starting charge and planned stops before leaving.
Keep the manual within reach
Save the correct manual and roadside-assistance contact. Follow its maintenance schedule and take warning messages seriously. Vehicle-specific instructions are more useful than a universal checklist.
